Dear Friends

We started Next Generation Nepal (NGN) in June 2006 in direct response to the crisis facing the victims of child trafficking from conflict zones in Nepal. I witnessed for myself the severe shortage of care for trafficked children and the lack of a comprehensive plan to return them to their parents – it was shocking enough to convince me that we had to try to do something about it. The eight months I spent living and working in an orphanage during the civil war helped me to put a human face on a crisis that the United Nations named as one of 10 Stories the World Should Hear More About in 2006.

Upon returning to Europe and America, I assembled a group of highly skilled, motivated and compassionate individuals which formed NGN’s Board of Directors . Just six months later, I met Liz Flanagan, who came to volunteer and who became my wife just one year later. Liz also became NGN's greatest fundraiser and NGN's Director of Strategy, all the while working full time as an attorney back in the US.

Along with an enthusiastic team of volunteers, we are dedicated to working on the ground in Nepal to provide a brighter future for these children. You can browse our monthly newsletters to learn more about what we have accomplished so far.

In November, 2009, thanks to a generous grant, Hallie Tamez became the Executive Director of NGN, becoming our first employee in the United States.

NGN is registered in the State of New York. NGN is also a registered INGO (international non-governmental organization) in Nepal. Our mission has already touched so many people who want to get involved in our work to help these forgotten children. Find out how you can help.

On behalf of my wife Liz, our board of directors, our volunteers, and the children of Nepal, thank you fso much for your interest.

Sincerely,

Conor Grennan
