Nancy Wong
Director of Strategy
Nancy Wong’s career started in finance and consulting. In 2006, Wong worked in the Business Financial Services unit at Merrill Lynch. Then she spent 3 years with Deloitte Consulting serving Fortune 500 clients, specializing in process improvement projects in California, Texas, Colorado, the Netherlands, and Malaysia. In 2010, she worked in Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York City, performing financial and strategic analysis for high-profile financial transactions.

Throughout her career in business, Wong has been passionate about serving the community. She coordinated pro bono consulting projects and workshops for over 60 non-profit organizations, including United Way and Big Brothers Big Sisters. She also volunteered with College Summit, helping at-risk teenagers make their way to college, learning so much from them in the process.

Sponsored by Deloitte to pursue a Master in Business Administration (MBA), Wong graduated from the New York University Stern School of Business in 2011 with 3 specializations: Strategy, Finance, and Social Innovation & Impact. While at Stern, she met Conor Grennan, President of NGN. She decided to defer her return to Deloitte, trade in her suitcase and airline miles for hiking boots to try to make a difference for the children in Nepal. At NGN, she enthusiastically uses her business background to provide strategic and operational support.

Wong considers herself a globetrotter, having lived all over America, Asia, Europe, and Australia. She is also an avid baker with a strong passion in culinary explorations, and still on a quest for the best pain au chocolat recipe.

Rachael Krulewich
Advocacy Officer
Rachael Krulewich first came to Nepal in 2005 as a volunteer and found herself acting as the live-in manager of a so-called orphanage controlled by one of Nepal’s more notorious child traffickers. While she tried her best to protect the children under her care, it was not enough. After witnessing firsthand the abuse and exploitation traffickers perpetrate against children, she left Nepal deeply passionate about child protection issues.

Upon leaving Nepal, Krulewich enrolled in American University. Majoring in International Studies, she focused on human rights and international security in South Asia and graduated in 2010. She also spent a semester in the University of Minnesota’s Studies in International Development program studying International Development in Rajasthan, India.

Krulewich has worked for anti-trafficking organizations in Washington, Chicago, and India.

Sarah Andrews
Communications Specialist
Sarah Andrews has over 10 years of experience in the fields of journalism and nonprofit communications marketing, and development. Having received her M.S. in Print Journalism from Boston University, she worked as a reporter and editor for newspapers owned by GateHouse Media Company in Massachusetts. Her work has also appeared in The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, and The Boston Phoenix and has been recognized by the New England Press Association and New England Newspaper Association.

Most recently, Andrews has worked as the Communications Manager for Meals on Wheels and More in Austin, Texas, where she managed all duties related to external communications, media outreach, marketing, multimedia and graphics production, and online advocacy.

Since 2008, Andrews has spent several months in Nepal, including a two months in 2010 when she worked on a school building project outside of Gorkha with Edge of Seven. A lover of travel and photography, she is excited to be back in Nepal for a longer stint and for the opportunity to contribute to the important work NGN is doing in this country.

Leonard Noel
Administrative Specialist
Leonard Noel is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Paraguay from 2005-2007 as a Municipal Services Development Volunteer. Upon completing his service, he worked at Peace Corps Headquarters as an Administrative Specialist where he was responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of over 100 orientation events per year for groups of aspiring Peace Corps Volunteers across the United States.

Noel arrived to Nepal in early 2011 with his wife who accepted a position with an agriculture and public policy project. While volunteering in one of Kathmandu’s many “children’s homes,” he was made aware of the injustices faced by children living in institutions against their will and found out about Next Generation Nepal.

Noel has a Master in International Relations from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and is excited about working with such a passionate team at NGN.
